Teachers GuideThe DVD-ROM portion of the disc has a complete teachers guide in PDF form. Performing arts teachers developed the guide and the lesson plans have all been classroom tested. The lesson plans are designed to give your students a taste of what it's like to be in all the fields of the performing arts. Sort of "an introduction to..." approach. Whatever part of the performing arts you teach, you may want to use the other episodes in the series to give your students a well-rounded view of all aspects of the performing arts. Also included on the DVD-ROM portion of the disc is a PowerPoint presentation called "What it Really Takes." Every episode of the series points out something besides talent that a performer needs to "make it" in the performing arts. For example, every performer is actually a small business owner with their talent as their product. So, to make it, you have to have some business skills. The presentation helps students take stock of the talents they already have and starts the process of identifying other talents they'll need if they're going to take a shot at a career in the performing arts. |
