Independent Educational Multimedia Producer - 2001 to Present

Develop and produce educational projects for public television. TV series' completed include Shortcuts To Happiness, a 10 program performing arts series with a DVD and web site; Sharing Art, a 15 program art series with a web site; Media Moments, a 4 program media literacy series with a web site; Masters of Gravity: Soap Box Derby Math and Science, an 8 program series with a DVD, CD-ROM and web site; and It's A Gas: Math and Science of the Blimp, an 11 program series with a DVD, CD-ROM and web site.

Lake Local Schools - 2001 to Present

Performing Arts Hall Lighting and Sound Technician - Design lighting and sound plots for school plays and musicals (18 shows so far). Operate sound and lights for all school activities and outside organizations.

Middle and High School Drama and Musical Director - 2005 to Present

Directed 3 plays and 3 musicals.

WNEO/WEAO-TV - 1989 to 2001

Director of Educational Services - Responsibilities included producing instructional television programs and the selection, acquisition, scheduling, promotion and evaluation of all K-12 instructional television. Oversaw the operation of the Technology Resource Center, which provided technology expertise to 96 school districts.

Kent State University College of Education - 1997 to 2001

Adjunct Associate Professor, Instructional Technology Department - Classes taught include graduate courses in distance learning, television production, selection and utilization of educational media, and integration of educational technology.

Ohio University Belmont - 1988 to 1989

Instructor/Media Development Specialist - Responsibilities included teaching educational media and telecommunications courses, working with faculty on the production of college credit courses delivered via videotape, and establishing a television production facility.

Coshocton City Schools - 1975 to 1988

ITV/AV Coordinator - Recording and rebroadcast of instructional television programs over four cable channels, produced 70 hours of local origination cable TV programming per year. Designed and developed an Instructional Media Center which contained the district's media production facility and elementary software collection. Other duties included school photographer, and staff development presentations for teachers.

Elementary Library Supervisor - Provided staff development and supervised four elementary libraries.

Speech, Theatre, and TV Production Teacher, Journalism Teacher, Vocational Television Teacher - Directed 22 high school plays and musicals, instituted and produced a daily five minute high school morning announcements program seen in the community over cable TV, and instituted the use of computers for the layout of the school newspaper.

  • Dan Mihuta Live: The Art Maker. Four statewide interactive Public Television programs, 1991.

  • SchoolWorks. Regional Public Television series spotlighting the good things happening in schools, 1996-1997. This program received a Regional Emmy.
  • K.C. and the Kidd. Statewide educational TV series to help students pass the Ohio fourth grade proficiency test, 1995.
  • Secrets of Sherlock. Statewide educational series to help students pass the Ohio fourth grade proficiency test, 1994. This TV series was a Central Educational Network Award winner.
  • White House 20500. Statewide educational series to help ninth graders pass the Ohio citizenship proficiency test, 1993. This TV series was a Central Educational Network Award winner and received a Regional Emmy nomination.
  • Blow the Roof Off! Statewide elementary science program, 1992. This TV series was an Ohio Educational Telecommunications Award winner and received a Regional Emmy nomination.
  • Math Movers. Sixty-three teacher training programs introducing Ohio's new math model curriculum, 1992. This TV series was a Central Educational Network Award winner and received an Ohio Educational Telecommunications Award.
