Theatre Tech Lesson Plans and Video: Meeting Place of the Arts

An introduction to technical theatre is the featured lesson plan for this performing arts video. As we look at the technical side of the theatre, an Oscar Wilde quote comes to mind. Synopsis of the TV program

Professionals: Joseph Petrosino is the technical director, Brian Shoemaker, the sound engineer, Sabrina Mulac, the assistant stage manager, and Hector Olives, the head carpenter. They demonstrate and explain how they must all work together to make their Broadway touring show happen.

School activity: We do a follow-up talking with students preparing the set for a musical production.

Follow-up Activities:

The student activities start with observing what's around them and then extrapolate that into what a set designer and stage crew does.
